The Steel-Drum Extracted Olive Oil from Beit Jala, Palestine is described as a delicate and nutty oil with a unique mountainy character. This taste is achieved through the perfect ripening of olives grown in the lush hills of Beit Jala, the ideal climate and soil conditions of the region, and the modern steel drum method used to extract the oil. The steel drum method involves crushing the olives using a rotating steel drum and then extracting the oil using centrifugal force. This method helps to retain the oil's natural flavors and nutrients.

This olive oil can be used in a variety of ways, such as for cooking, baking, and as a dressing for salads. It is also a great finishing oil, which can be drizzled over dishes like grilled vegetables, meats, and bread.

Nestled in the heart of the West Bank, the village of Aboud carries with it a rich tapestry of history and significance. Aboud, with its population of over 2,000, is a harmonious blend of Muslims and Christians, predominantly Eastern Orthodox. The village boasts numerous natural springs, the lifeblood of the Yarkon River.

In the annals of time, Aboud has witnessed the ebb and flow of civilizations, leaving behind traces of its storied past. From Byzantine-era relics to Crusader constructions, the village stands as a testament to the endurance of its people and their diverse cultural heritage. The Church of St. Mary, dating back to the 5th to 6th centuries, echoes with the whispers of history, undergoing restorations that reveal its Byzantine origins.

Aboud's historical journey transcends epochs, from the early Muslim period, Crusader/Mamluk era, Ottoman rule, to the British Mandate era and beyond. Despite the challenges and changes of the modern era, the village retains its essence, under Israeli occupation since 1967.

The demography of Aboud is a vibrant mosaic, reflecting a mix of agricultural traditions and contemporary pursuits. Historically centered on olive cultivation, figs, apples, grapes, and almonds also grace its lands. The village's economy, once intertwined with agriculture, has diversified, embracing the governmental and private sectors.

Archaeological treasures such as the 'Abud Cave and Mokata 'Abud speak of a time when Aboud was a Jewish settlement during the early Roman period. The village's enduring connection to its land is exemplified by its yearly celebration of St. Barbara's Day, a tradition disrupted by the unfortunate destruction of the church in 2002.

As Aboud steps into the future, it does so with a commitment to preserving its heritage, sharing its stories, and celebrating the resilience that defines its identity. In every olive grove, ancient church, and cobblestone street, Aboud invites us to explore the layers of its past and appreciate the timeless importance of this village in the narrative of Palestinian history.
