Olive Odyssey — Return & Refund Policy

What’s our standard return window?

You have 30 days from the day you receive your order to request a return.

  • Items must be unused, unopened, in their original packaging, and in the same condition you received them.

  • Please keep your order confirmation or receipt (email is fine).

Food is special. Because our products are foods, once a seal is broken or an item is opened, we generally can’t accept returns for health & safety reasons—unless the item is defective or we made a mistake.

How do I start a return?

  1. Email hey@oliveodyssey.com with your order number and the item(s) you’d like to return.

  2. If your return is approved, we’ll email you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) with instructions and the correct return address for your region.

  3. Please don’t send items back without an RMA—unauthorized returns can’t be accepted.

Who pays for return shipping?

  • If the return is due to our error (defective, damaged, wrong item, or a shipping mistake), we cover return shipping or offer a no-return refund where appropriate.

  • For all other returns (e.g., you changed your mind), you cover return shipping. We can provide a prepaid label and deduct the label cost from your refund if you prefer.

Tip: If you arrange your own shipping, use a tracked service. You’re responsible for the item until we receive it.

Damages, defects, or wrong item

Please inspect your order on arrival. If anything is damaged, defective, leaking, or not what you ordered, email hey@oliveodyssey.com within 7 days with photos of:

  • the product,

  • the packaging (inside and outside), and

  • the shipping label.

We’ll replace it, reship, or refund—your choice (subject to availability and local law).

Natural variations aren’t defects. Harvest-to-harvest flavor and color differences are part of genuine extra virgin olive oil. That said, if something tastes or smells off, tell us—we’ll help.

Non-returnable items

  • Opened food items (unless defective or sent in error)

  • Perishables where safety seals are broken

  • Custom/personalized items (if/when offered)

  • Hazardous goods (none of our standard products qualify)

  • Gift cards

  • Final-sale / clearance items (except where defective or not as described)

If you’re unsure, email us—we’ll advise before you ship.

Exchanges

Need a different item? The fastest way is to return the original (once approved) and place a new order. If we caused the issue, we’ll handle it for you without extra shipping charges.

Pre-orders

You may cancel any time before shipment for a full refund. After shipment, our standard policy applies. Harvest and customs timelines can shift; if a significant delay happens, we’ll email you with options (wait, modify, or refund).

Bundles & sets

To receive a full refund, please return the entire bundle/set in original condition. If only part is returned, we’ll refund the difference between the bundle price and the current standalone price of items you keep (if applicable).

Gifts

  • If the order was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you, we can issue a store credit to you for the return value.

  • If the order wasn’t marked as a gift, refunds go to the original payment method.

Refund timing

Once your return arrives and passes inspection, we’ll email you the outcome. If approved, we’ll issue a refund to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank or card provider may need additional time to post it.

  • If it’s been 15 business days since approval and you don’t see the refund, please contact us at hey@oliveodyssey.com.

Undeliverable / refused shipments

If a parcel is undeliverable (wrong address, refusal, etc.) and is returned to us, we’ll refund the product price once received in sellable condition, less:

  • original shipping (if paid),

  • any return shipping or carrier fees charged back to us, and

  • any duties/taxes we cannot recover.

We’re happy to reship to an updated address (additional shipping charges may apply).

Customs, duties & taxes (international orders)

Unless we clearly state otherwise at checkout, import duties, VAT/GST, and brokerage fees are not included and are your responsibility. These charges are non-refundable by us if you return an item; you may be able to claim them back from your local authority (varies by country).

Region-specific rights (summary)

  • European Union / United Kingdom: You have a 14-day right of withdrawal for most online purchases, starting the day after delivery. You must return items unopened and in resaleable condition. Exemption: goods sealed for health protection/hygiene that are unsealed after delivery (e.g., opened food) cannot be returned under the cooling-off rules. Your statutory rights apply in addition to our policy.

  • Australia / New Zealand / Canada: Your statutory consumer guarantees/rights apply and cannot be excluded where local law prohibits exclusion.

  • United States: State and federal consumer protections apply; our policy does not limit any non-waivable rights.
