Rumi Meets Nabali
This bundle pairs two of Palestine's oldest native olive varieties, each grown by a different family in a different village. The Burqa Rumi is structured and peppery, shaped by highland limestone soil and dry winds. The Marda Nabali is smooth and olive-forward, finishing with a distinctive bitterness carried by trees tended for over a century.
One leads with herbs and spice. The other settles into depth and weight. Put them side by side, and you start to understand what makes Palestinian olive oil so diverse.
Includes:
- 1 × Burqa Rumi Cold Pressed 750 ml 25.4 fl oz
- 1 × Marda Nabali Cold Pressed 750 ml 25.4 fl oz
Store in a cool, dry place, shielded from direct sunlight or heat.
Most olive oil is blended and sold without naming the variety or the village. Rumi and Nabali are two of Palestine's oldest cultivars; and they couldn't taste more different.
Rumi leans herbaceous and peppery with a balanced structure. Nabali rounds out into a smooth body with a bitter finish that lingers. In Palestinian households, different oils serve different roles at the table: one to cook with, one to finish with, one for bread, one for salads. This bundle brings that range into your kitchen.
Sameer's family farms the hills of Burqa, northwest of Nablus. Jalal and his sons work the groves of Marda, near Salfit. Both families farm by hand, press shortly after harvest, and never blend their oil. Two families, two villages. One bottle of each is all it takes to taste the difference.
