About this oil

Long before steel drums, Palestinian olives were crushed under stone. In Bazariya, northwest of Nablus, Abed Al-Rahman Oudi still presses that way, on the millstones of his family's small press. The oil comes out fresh and green: fruity, tangy and smooth, with a warm hint of pepper. Bazariya is where Olive Odyssey started, in the 2022 harvest, and one taste tells you why we stayed.

Meet the farmer

Abed Al-Rahman Oudi

Born and raised in Bazariya, he presses on stone, the way his grandfathers did.

We pay every farmer 25 to 30% above the market price.

Abed Al-Rahman Oudi has never lived anywhere but Bazariya. He runs his family's small press there, which crushes olives on a stone mill, "the old way our grandfathers worked," and his own olives come from the baladi trees his grandfather planted. His millstone oil was one of the three oils Olive Odyssey launched with in the 2022 harvest, so Bazariya is where our story begins. "For me, the olive season is a season of blessing," he says. "Life comes back to the village." Whoever finishes picking early goes to help the neighbors finish theirs.

★★★★★The best olive oil I have ever tasted

Light, flavorful, and delicious. I love it drizzled on pizza or lentil soup, or just on toast for breakfast. It tastes fresh and green. Amazing.

I rarely write reviews, but this olive oil absolutely deserves one. It’s honestly the best olive oil I’ve ever tasted in my life. The flavor is incredibly rich. You can really taste the difference compared to regular supermarket olive oils. Even something simple like dipping fresh bread in it becomes amazing.

★★★★★

This is a gorgeous olive oil, one of our favorites. Beautiful plain with bread, or for a subtle richness in a salad. The cooking qualities of all the olive oils sold by Olive Odyssey are amazing. Whether in sauté or roasting, Bazariya is a star! Try it for roasting garlic... the spread is amazing!

★★★★★Out of this world good!

Amazing! Delightful! Delicious! The real deal! It’s almost a sin to cook with this fine olive oil - what is should be used for is salad dressing and dipping. The flavor is as authentic, flavorful and exquisite as a fine wine.

★★★★★Real, real olive oil

Simply put, this olive oil is wonderful. It is rich, flavorful, sun-kissed mellow and zesty at the finish. It is love-filled, and you can taste that, too. Use generously. Support these people. Get back in touch with something real.

★★★★★Blessed

It is a blessing to be able to enjoy this olive oil. The taste is distinct (I can't describe the notes of the taste adequately) and with Zathar in a dish is a great dip for sourdough bread and raw veggies, like zucchini, carrots 🥕 and cucumber 🥒 . An exceptional olive oil, superior to the Greek, Italian, California or Spanish ol8ve oils that might be more readily available in my local grocery stores.

★★★★★Absolutely beautiful olive oil

The quality is immediately noticeable. It’s fresh, smooth and full of flavour without being overpowering. It has completely changed the taste of even the simplest dishes and I find myself reaching for it all the time. You can really tell this is a high-quality product and not just another supermarket olive oil. I’ll definitely be buying it again and would happily recommend it.
